Apr 10, 2025 (newstodate): Chinese carriers are fully exploiting the market opportunities opened by exclusive rights to fly through Russian airspace on China-Europe routes.
As one example, Air China is now again increasing frequencies on routes to Scandinavia in summer 2025.
In July and August 2025, Copenhagen Airport will thus see Air China increasing to 10 weekly rotations from Beijing, adding three weekly Airbus A330-300 flights to the daily Airbus A350-900 flights operating since March 30, 2025.
Also in July and August 2025, Air China will be operating nine weekly rotations between Beijing and Stockholm by adding two weekly Airbus A350-900 flights.
SAS pulled out from its route between Copenhagen and Beijing from November 2024, citing a decrease in the market and negative effects from a long detour to avoid Russian airspace, and Finnair is also off-line at Beijing.
