Mar 11, 2024 (newstodate): Ukraine is starting negotiations with USD and EU regulators preparing for the future resumption of air transport in the country.
Speaking to Ukrainian media, Oleksandr Kubrakov, Ukraine's Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, confirmed that Ukraine officially begins negotiations with the regulators of the USA and the EU regarding the resumption of passenger air transportation, and consultations are also taking place with the Civil Aviation Administration of Israel.
-There are not many examples in the world of airports operating where drones or missiles can arrive at any time. Israel is the most successful example, and we have spent a lot of time with and continue to consult with the Civil Aviation Administration of Israel, he said.
-There are European airlines that are interested and want to be the first in the resumption of the Ukrainian air market, and negotiations are also underway with three Ukrainian companies.
In April 2023, Ryanair revealed plans for launch of a batch of 30 routes serving Ukraine that is estimated to have a strong demand for air travel after the war when the country's infrastructure including roads and bridges may be severely demolished.
Ukraine and EU landed an Open Skies Agreement on October 12, 2021.
