Mar 11, 2024 (newstodate): A new logistics center is taking shape at Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Last year, the Norwegian transport company GF Logistikk signed a lease contract with the private developer Oslo Airport City for a plot adjoining the coming new World Seafood Center, dedicated to setting up a new 6,000 m2 facility designed for handling of airfreight for road distribution in Norway.
Construction works started in autumn 2023, and the facility will be commissioned by December 2024 to serve as the company's main hub for distribution across Norway.
Oslo Airport City is thus seeing visions turning into reality with several contracts and operations now in place including the 55,000 m2 World Seafood Center, the 5,500 m2 Cool Hotel, GF-Logistikk's coming 6,000 m2 transport center, as well as the latest tenant, Grieg Seafood planning to establish a 25,000 m2 processing factory designed for an annual salmon processing capacity of 10,000–12,000 tonnes, with an option of increasing capacity to 20,000 tonnes at a later stage.
