Mar 21, 2024 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes handled at Latvia's Riga Airport are still at the low end.
In February 2024, a total of 1,153 tonnes of cargo was handled, which was down 22 percent, y-o-y, following January's meager result of 1,136 tonnes which also was a drop by 10 percent, y-o-y.
In the first two months of this year, the airport is thus seeing its cargo volumes down by 16 percent, among other factors reflecting the effects from the closure of Russian airspace that earlier allowed for imports of e-trade commodities from China.
