Mar 18, 2024 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport experienced almost no change in total cargo volumes in the first two months of this year, compared to 2023.
The airport thus handled 10,011 tonnes of cargo in January-February '24 against 10,089 tonnes in 2023.
In Jan-Feb'24, cargo on freighter flights were up by 2.5 percent, y-o-y, to 7,275 tonnes, but belly cargo loads drew in the opposite direction with a drop by 8.6 percent to 2,736 tonnes.
In 2023, Isavia reported an increase by 10.9 percent, y-o-y, in Iceland's air cargo volumes.
A total of 59,940 tonnes of cargo was handled at Keflavik Airport including 43,209 tonnes of cargo on freighter aircraft, while another 16,831 tonnes of cargo was transported in passenger aircraft belly holds.
