Mar 04, 2024 (newstodate): Lithuania's Avia Solutions is now established in Australia as part of its plans to be operating five airlines in the Asia-Pacific Region.
   ASG has thus completed the acquisition of the Australian carrier Skytrans, based at Cairns and operating a fleet of 13 turboprop aircraft.
   Skytrans will bring in Avia Solutions Group's 12th AOC and allow ASG to operate passenger and cargo flights in Australia.
   -This acquisition is part of our larger strategy, which is aimed at limiting the impact of seasonality, whilst giving us access to new growing markets in Asia-Pacific and further afield, says Jonas Janukėnas, CEO of Avia Solutions Group.
   This is then the third of five milestones for ASG's strategy for the Asian/Pacific region, after obtaining an AOC for the launch of BBN Airlines Thailand with a fleet initially comprising four and growing to 16 Airbus A320 Family aircraft by the end of 2025, and an Indonesian AOC to launch BBN Airlines Indonesia, initially operating a fleet consisting of two Boeing 737-800F specializing in air freight services.
