Feb 27, 2024 (newstodate): WFS and Etihad Cargo have concluded a three-years strategic partnership, covering 12 major international airports across Europe including Copenhagen Airport in Scandinavia, North America, India, and Asia Pacific.
WFS will be managing seamless operations for Etihad Cargo’s global network via the airline’s hub in Abu Dhabi, comprising both general cargo and a wide range of specialty products including live animals, dangerous goods, valuables, as well as pharmaceuticals and perishable cargoes.
Serving the Scandinavian markets, Etihad Airways performed its first flight from Abu Dhabi to Copenhagen on September 29, 2023, now offering four year-round weekly rotations operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The carrier has picked Aviator Airport Alliance to provide ground handling at Copenhagen Airport, and in October Etihad and SAS inked a strategic code-share agreement taking effect from the end of December, allowing passengers to book seamlessly to destinations across the networks of the two airlines.
Serving Etihad Cargo with cargo sales in Denmark and Scandinavia is Universal GSA; WFS provides the carrier with cargo handling, and in August 2023 Etihad Cargo appointed Wallenborn Transports as its road feeder service partner for Europe.
