Ryanair first entered the Swedish market in 1997 with flights to Stockholm Skavsta, but moved its operations away from Stockholm Skavsta to set up instead its base at Stockholm Airport from the start of the winter 2021/22 schedule, allocating two aircraft to operate 89 flights per week serving 21 new routes to 15 countries as well as domestic flights connecting the Swedish capital with five regional airports, enhancing air connectivity in especially the northern parts of the country.
