Feb 13, 2024 (newstodate): According to Avinor's latest cargo statistics for January 2024, Evenes Airport seems to be without any cargo traffic.
   -Not so: Qatar Airways Cargo is operating as usual with one weekly Boeing 777F service from Evenes to Qatar lifting Norwegian seafood to Asia and the Middle East, says Stig Winther, Perishables Center Nord Mng Dir.
   -There are even plans, still to be confirmed, for adding a second weekly flight from March 8, 2024, and we are in talks with other operators looking into Evenes Airport for freighter services, says Mr Winther.
   With the first flight on October 31, 2023, Qatar Airways Cargo marked its return to the airport, and in November-December '23, Qatar Airways Cargo lifted a total of 800 tonnes of cargo on the flights out of Evenes.  
   Earlier, Qatar Airways Cargo launched freighter operations at Evenes Airport on December 14, 2020, offering three weekly operations complementing Qatar Airways passenger flights and freighter services at Oslo Airport, but suspended operations at Evenes again from November 2022.
