Feb 27, 2024 (newstodate): Effective from March 1, 2024, Maersk Air Cargo will have a new and highly professional man in the left-hand seat of the cockpit: Danish national Lars Jordahn.
Appointed Maersk Air Cargo Global Head, Mr Jordahn takes over the CEO position from Peter Corfitsen, in the seat from the launch of Maersk Air Cargo in 2023 and prior to that serving as Star Air CEO and Accountable Manager from May 1, 2021.
Lars Jordahn brings in rich experience in the world of aviation and air cargo, last serving till December 2023 for over five years with West Atlantic as CEO, and prior to that with TNT Airways as Managing Director Global Airlines during November 2014-May 2016, Amapola Managing Director May 2010-November 2014, after many years with DHL and DHL Aviation starting from 1984.
In his new capacity, Mr Jordan will take responsibility for growing Maersk Air Cargo further on a global scale with currently 20 Boeing 767 freighters and adding two new ex-factory Boeing 777F aircraft in late 2024, primarily dedicated to serving customers of Maersk Group companies.
In Europe, Maersk Air Cargo has established its base at Denmark's Billund Airport where the carrier has added a third Boeing 767 freighter to its base now primarily operating six weekly flights to Hangzhou in China, alongside a fourth aircraft serving the ad-hoc market.
