Feb 20, 2024 (newstodate): The Lithuanian IOSA-certified ACMI carrier GetJet Airlines is adding one more Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet.
The aircraft, now at Siauliai Airport for technical inspection, has been taken over from a leasing company by GetJet in February '24 and is slated for entry into commercial service in March this year as the airline's fifth Boeing 737 aircraft adding to the fleet also comprising six Airbus A320, five Boeing 737-800 and one Airbus A321 aircraft.
GetJet Airlines operates flights to more than 170 airports in over 50 countries, providing customers such as Wizz Air, Finnair, Transavia, Icelandair, TUI Airways, Vueling, Air Serbia, and other airlines with wet-lease and ACMI capacity.
GetJet Airlines has been highly successful with its ACMI business in 2023; a/o in June '23 the carrier entered a partnership with Icelandair for flight operations from Keflavik Airport, and GetJet Airlines has also been providing start-up capacity for the Uzbek airline Centrum Air comprising three Airbus A320 aircraft.
In November 2023, GetJet Airlines secured an ACMI contract covering this winter schedule with Azerbaijan Airlines, comprising three Airbus A320 aircraft to be deployed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport as their operational base.
