Feb 15, 2024 (newstodate): The low-cost carrier flydubai has put three Baltic destinations on its route map from later this year, growing its network in Europe to 43 destinations in 21 countries.
Starting from October 11, 2024, the carrier will thus introduce three weekly rotations on the route connecting Dubai and Riga, in Latvia; the following day will see the launch of flights from Dubai to Tallinn in Estonia and to Vilnius in Lithuania, also to be served with three weekly rotations, with Aviareps appointed as the carrier's passenger GSA in the Baltic markets.
In all three cases, the coming new flights marking the carrier's entry into the Baltic markets will offer the option for onward connections on flydubai's extensive network via Dubai to destinations including Malaysia, the Maldives, Mombasa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Zanzibar.
flydubai is thus introducing competition on connections between the Baltic markets and Dubai, where the Latvian carrier airBaltic launched flights from November 2, 2023, between Vilnius and Dubai as its second Baltic connection to Dubai after operating year-round flights from Riga to Dubai since September 27, 2021.
In November 2021, airBaltic entered a new code-share agreement with the Gulf carrier Emirates, providing airBaltic customers from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius and Helsinki with seamless access to Emirates' worldwide network via its hub in Dubai.
