Feb 14, 2024 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport opened 2024 with growth in cargo volumes, flown and trucked volumes on legacy and integrator carriers combined.
A total of 25,082 tonnes of cargo was handled in January 2024, an increase by 17.1 percent.
While encouraging for the airport, the growth partly derives from last year's Chinese New Year celebrated in January '22 but moving to February this year.
Compared to January 2022, the airport thus actually handled 38 tonnes less in 2024..
Counting legacy carriers alone, the airport handled 17,383 tonnes in January '24, a sound increase by 28 percent y-o-y, including 9,131 tonnes of belly cargo rising 42 percent, y-o-y, and still 6.6 percent more than in January 2022.
Loads on legacy all-cargo operations were 151 tonnes against only two tonnes last year, while trucking generated 7,512 tonnes, up 16 percent y-o-y, but slightly down by four percent compared to 2022.
Finally, mail volumes at 589 tonnes in January '24 handled were down by 15 percent - but sliding 41 percent compared to 2022.
