Feb 26, 2024 (newstodate): After years of silence, Palestinian Airlines seems to be alive again, if not exactly thriving.
According to the airline's postings on social media, one Fokker 50 aircraft has been put on Egyptian registration and is now based at Cairo Airport, awaiting a future opportunity to enter service.
Set up in 1993, Palestinian Airlines was based at Gaza's Yasser Arafat International Airport serving a network of destinations in the region until its last operation in 2005.
Owned by the Palestinian Authority, the airline finally entered bankruptcy in December 2020 with only eight employees after years with no operations of its own.
