Jan 09, 2024 (newstodate): Swedavia ended 2023 with an overall drop by 14.8 percent in cargo volumes handled at its 10 airports.
Together, the airports handled 123,789 tonnes of cargo in 2023.
The bulk of the cargo was handled at Swedavia's three major airports at Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo that all recorded drops in volumes.
Stockholm Airport thus saw volumes down by 12.1 percent, y-o-y, to 91,228 tonnes including 53,490 tonnes of exports, down 14.8 percent, and 37,738 tonnes of imports that were also down by eight percent, y-o-y.
Gothenburg Airport handled a total of 14,315 tonnes of cargo, down 15.3 percent, including 6,452 tonnes of exports and 7,863 tonnes of imports, down 11.2 and 18.5 percent, respectively.
Finally, Malmo Airport was down 8.6 percent, y-o-y, to 14.635 tonnes including 1,768 tonnes of exports and 7,858 tonnes of imports, down by 45.4 and 45.5 percent respectively.
