Jan 18, 2024 (newstodate): According to Russian media, the country's airlines are requested not to operate flights to Egypt with 27 specific aircraft.
The aircraft in question are western-manufactured aircraft operated by Aeroflot and Rossiya.
The country's regulator Rosaviatsia has thus called on Aeroflot not to use 10 Airbus A320, four A321, one A350 and nine Boeing 777-300ER on flights to Egyptian destinations, while Russiya has to keep three Boeing 737-800 out of the traffic to Egypt.
The reason is clear: the aircraft might be arrested by Egyptian authorities as their ownership is claimed by western aircraft leasing companies.
