Jan 25, 2024 (newstodate): Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group is taking new steps in its plans for operating five airlines in the Asia-Pacific Region.
ASG has thus announced entering a share-purchase agreeent to acquire the Australian carrier Skytrans, based at Cairns and operating a fleet of 13 turboprop aircraft.
If approved by authorities, the deal will be finalized in March 2024.
Skytrans will bring in Avia Solutions Group's 12th AOC and allow ASG to operate passenger and cargo flights in Australia.
This is then the third of five milestones for ASG's strategy for the Asian/Pacific region, after obtaining an AOC for the launch of BBN Airlines Thailand with a fleet initially comprising four and growing to 16 Airbus A320 Family aircraft by the end of 2025, and an Indonesian AOC to launch BBN Airlines Indonesia, initially operating a fleet consisting of two Boeing 737-800F specializing in air freight services.
