Jan 16, 2024 (newstodate): Two out of Lufthansa Cargo's four converted Airbus A321 freighter aircraft are currently out of service after the detection of minor fuselage cracks.
-Both aircraft will be repaired as soon as possible. As things stand now, there will only be minimal short-term cancellations of individual frequencies in the cargo flight schedule, a Lufthansa Cargo spokesperson replies to newstodate's inquiry.
-The repairs should be completed within a few days, with all parties involved working to return the aircraft to service as soon as possible.
-One aircraft, D-AEUC, is still in its scheduled layover period from 26 December, 2023, till 21 January, 2024, and therefore not scheduled for any missions. The repairs are expected to be completed within this scheduled layover period.
-The other A321 freighter, D-AEUC, was not scheduled anyway due to a routine check with corresponding idle times.
In the Nordic markets, Lufthansa Cargo is operating scheduled Airbus A321 freighter services to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki and Stavanger.
