Jan 04, 2024 (newstodate): Shortly before Christmas, the Lithuanian ACMI and charter airline Heston Airlines added another Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet.
The Airbus A320-200 aircraft was sold by the Irish aircraft leasing and trading company Aergo Capital Limited to Heston Airlines, bringing the carrier's fleet to 15 aircraft, including 12 Airbus A320 Family and three Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
In summer 2023, Heston Airlines also at long last obtained its coveted IOSA certification - earlier expected already before the end of the preceding year.
With the certification by IATA, Heston Airlines is fully capable of bidding on any wet-lease and ACMI tender requiring IOSA that is also a prerequisite for serving airline customers with code-share partners.
Set up in 2020 and landing its AOC on May 21, 2021, Heston Airlines is based at Vilnius Airport with Jonas Rinkauskas as its CEO, and has established a subsidiary in Malta.
Among the latest news from Heston Airlines is the announcement of the continued cooperation with Condor Flugdienst comprising the wet-lease of two Airbus A320 aircraft during the coming summer schedule, after a similar contract in summer 2023 that also covered the wet-lease of one Airbus A330 aircraft for flights during the summer from Dusseldorf to tourist destinations.
