Jan 03, 2024 (newstodate): New in the air over Uzbekistan is Air Samarkand with its first commercial flight on December 29, 2023.
   The carrier obtained its AOC only few days earlier and is now online with scheduled flights on its first route connecting Samarkand and Istanbul, soon adding flights to Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China as a first step before entering into Europe during 2024.
   In the fleet is now one Airbus A321neo that served the now-defunct Swedish charter carrier Novair till its demise by the end of October 2023.
   Also in the fleet of Air Samarkand is one Airbus A330-300 formerly operating for China Airlines and one A321-200 formerly with Avianca.
