Jan 24, 2024 (newstodate): The charter/ACMI carrier DAT, Danish Air Transport, has been cleared to operate in Canadian airspace.
The carrier has obtained a Foreign Air Operator Certificate, FAOC, from the Canadian CAA allowing it to operate to, from and through Canadian airspace.
With the FAOC, DAT is now able to operate its Airbus A320/A321 capacity from Canadian bases on ad-hoc charters as well as on ACMI contracts for flights from and within Canada.
While no concrete contracts have yet been announced, DAT hints at operating flights between Canada and primarily Caribbean destinations from winter 2024/25.
In the fleet of DAT are today six Airbus A320, one Airbus A321 as well as 15 ATR aircraft.
