Jan 22, 2024 (newstodate): Three out of five Nordic capital airports exited 2023 with a growth in cargo volumes.
Considering growth figures alone, Iceland's Keflavik Airport topped the list reporting volumes up by 10.9 percent, y-o-y, while ranking lowest in cargo volumes handled, totaling 59,940 tonnes.
Landing #2 and handling a total of 170,343 tonnes of cargo, Norway's Oslo Airport reported an increase by two percent in 2023.
Third Nordic airport showing growth in 2023 was Finland's Helsinki Airport with the handling of 172,579 tonnes, which was still a modest increase by 0.8 percent.
Denmark's Copenhagen Airport rounded off 2023 with the handling of 286,684 tonnes while down 4.8 percent, y-o-y.
Finally, Sweden's Stockholm Airport suffered the most with a drop by 12.1 percent, y-o-y, in volumes totaling 91,228 tonnes in 2023.
*It should be noted that Copenhagen and Helsinki include both flown and trucked cargo, while Oslo and Stockholm count only flown cargo in their cargo statistics.
