Sep 29, 2023 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ground handling provider Baltic Ground Services has secured the extension of its contract with Turkish Airlines at Vilnius Airport.
BGS will thus continue providing the carrier with ground handling services at the airport where Turkish Airlines operates two daily rotations from Istanbul in winters, and up to three daily rotations during the summer schedules.
Turkish Airlines first launched passenger flights on a triangular service Istanbul-Tallinn-Vilnius on June 11, 2013, later splitting the service into dedicated flights to Vilnius and Tallinn from October 26, 2014 - and BGS has been its handling provider at Vilnius Airport from the start.
On April 19, 2918, Turkish Cargo added a twice-weekly Airbus A330-200F operation at Vilnius Airport, and BGS's contract with Turkish Airlines also comprises the ground handling and fueling of the freighter aircraft.
