Sep 01, 2023 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines Cargo is a staunch and loyal provider of freighter capacity in the Danish market - and doing well at Billund Airport..
The carrier launched operations at Billund on April 10, 2016, with one weekly Airbus A310-300F freighter wet-leased from ULS Airlines Cargo, adding a second frequency from early November 2016, shared with Amsterdam on a routing Istanbul-Amsterdam-Billund-Istanbul and operated with Turkish Cargo's own Airbus A330-200F aircraft.
Next step was the addition of a third weekly service starting from May 7, 2021, and operating directly between between Billund and Istanbul - and this has remained the pattern of freighter service, on top of the belly capacity on the airline's substantial passenger flights between Denmark and Istanbul.
Today, one TK freighter still operates directly between Istanbul and Billund, while one freighter flies into Billund from London Stansted, and one from London Heathrow Airport, continuing to Istanbul Airport.
Serving as Turkish Airlines Regional Cargo Sales Manager Denmark since December 2021 is Mehmet Gokce, earlier in the similar position in Sweden for over five years.
In Scandinavia, including the Danish market, cargo sales is provided by NordicGSA serving Turkish Cargo as GSSA.
