Sep 21, 2023 (newstodate): Continuing the work on the new airport terminal development project, Riga Airport has now opened a discussion on the construction procurement qualification requirements with applicants.
Until October 3, 2023, interested suppliers may thus submit comments on the defined qualification requirements and the description of the procurement subject.
After collecting the proposals, the qualifications of applicants will be announced at the beginning of October, which will be followed by stage 2 of construction procurement – submission of proposals.
Expectations are that the construction contract could be inked at the end of the summer of 2024, when the construction works should also begin.
Together forming stage 6 of the airport's development, the new 30,000 m2 terminal building of Riga Airport with a modern passenger check-in hall, security and border control area, shops and cafes, baggage handling facility, and new access roads for private and public transport, a multistory car park and a connection to the Rail Baltica station will comprise over 45,000 m2.
