Sep 13, 2023 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Airport saw its cargo and mail volumes up by one percent, y-o-y, in August 2023.
A total of 15,546 tonnes was handled at the airport, primarily driven by a growth in international cargo by two percent, to a total of 14,654 tonnes.
Starting from August 12, 2023, Korean Air Cargo - online with scheduled freighter flights serving Norway since March 9, 2004 - reinstalled its third Boeing 777F flights from Oslo Airport to Seoul after pausing the Saturday flight since the closure of the Russian airspace for overflights between Europe and Asia.
And from August 15, 2023, Oslo Airport saw Martinair introducing a weekly Boeing 747-400F flying in from Chicago with US exports and heading back to Amsterdam with seafood shipments to be transferred on KLM/Martinair Cargo flights to the global marketplace.
Despite these extra uplift capacities in the market, the airport still remains down by one percent, y-o-y, to 109,410 tonnes in January-August 2023.
