Sep 15, 2023 (newstodate): In 2023, Nordic Aviation Capital is fast thinning its fleet of Dash 8-400 aircraft.
Latest news from the Danish regional aircraft leasing company concerns the sale of no less than 16 Dash 8-400 aircraft to the Irish aircraft leasing and management company Formidion Aviation.
Earlier this month, four Dash 8-400 aircraft were lifted off the portfolio of Nordic Aviation Capital, sold to the UK company Executive Jet Support Ltd., provider of commercial aircraft, engines, and airframe components.
In August '23, another transaction comprised the sale of four Dash 8-400 to Universal Air, based at Malta; in May 2023, the Italian carrier Sky Alps signed a contract for the acquisition of four Dash 8-400 aircraft from NAC's stock, and the Australian carrier Nexus Airlines also took in the first of five Dash 8 Q400 aircraft acquired on a lease contract with NAC.
Earlier in 2023, one Dash 8-400 aircraft was sold to the Polish carrier LOT, while another Dash 8-400 on NAC's stock was sold to Icelandair; in March 2023, NAC also delivered one Dash 8-400 on lease to LAM, the flag carrier of Mozambique.
NAC's fleet of Dash 8-400 aircraft was last replenished in February 2023 as the Latvian carrier airBaltic completed the planned redelivery of 12 Bombardier Q400 aircraft fleet to NAC after the expiry of the leasing contract.
With the latest Dash 8-400 sales, NAC has thus divested of at least 34 aircraft this year alone.
