Sep 08, 2023 (newstodate): Boeing aircraft are new in the portfolio of Nordic Aviation Capital, until this year focusing on regional aircraft lease business.
But this is changing: in June 2023, NAC added the first Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its portfolio for cargo conversion under a contract with Boeing for one conversion slot, with the first redelivery in 2026.
In June 2023, NAC Nordic Aviation Capital thus acquired its first three Boeing 737-800 aircraft; two aircraft were placed on a leasing contract with American Airlines, while the third aircraft is on lease to Transavia France.
Later this summer, NAC also executed a purchase agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise for one 737-800 now leased to EGYPTAIR, and one 737 Max 8 aircraft placed on a lease contract with Aeromexico.
Nordic Aviation Capital still keeps all options open concerning the future of its Boeing aircraft acquisitions:
-The leases do not expire until later in the decade. Options for the aircraft could include lessee extensions, cargo conversions or part-out/engine leasing, says Eva Ferguson, Nordic Aviation Capital GVP, Marketing and Communications.
