Sep 12, 2023 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo will soon break news on its plans for expanding its European short-haul freighter network.
In connection to announcing today new flight offerings to Asia, Africa and Mexico in the coming W'23/24 schedule, the company also reveals its intention to expand the medium-haul route network after September 2023 when a fourth Airbus A321 freighter will be added to the fleet.
-The planned entry into service of a fourth Airbus A321 freighter in the course of September will soon result in further expansions in Lufthansa Cargo's short- and medium-haul segment, the company says in a tight-lipped release.
While still to be officially announced, newstodate has earlier reported that Lufthansa Cargo's European short-haul freighter network is to be expanded with the inclusion of three Nordic destinations from November 2023.
New on the schedule will be Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki connected to the Lufthansa Cargo's hub at Frankfurt Airport.
The first route opening on November 1, 2023, will see an Airbus A321F operated from Frankfurt to Helsinki, continuing to Copenhagen and returning to Frankfurt with one weekly rotation.
Next, with the opening flight following on November 3, Lufthansa Cargo's Airbus A321F will operate a route from Frankfurt to Helsinki, continuing to Stockholm and returning to Frankfurt, also with one weekly rotation.
Finland's Helsinki Airport will thus see Lufthansa Cargo twice a week, while Copenhagen and Stockholm will be served with only one weekly flight.
