Sep 01, 2023 (newstodate): Starting from October 1, 2023, the Danish airfreight export market will welcome Etihad Cargo offering capacity on four weekly rotations on a new passenger route between Copenhagen and Abu Dhabi, served with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
-Etihad Cargo is pleased to introduce cargo capacity out of Copenhagen. Denmark is home to a number of major international pharmaceutical companies, and the country has become an established biotech and pharma hub in Europe.
-Via Etihad Cargo’s IATA CEIV Pharma-certified product, PharmaLife, the carrier will provide transportation of Denmark’s packaged medico shipments to markets around the world, said Martin Drew, Etihad Airways Snr VP – Global Sales & Cargo.
Denmark ranks #11 and Sweden #13 among the largest pharma exporting countries. The Medicon Valley cluster, within two hours' drive from Copenhagen Airport, has an export share of almost six percent of global pharma - and in Denmark, the pharma industry including NOVO now contributes almost half of the country's GDP.
By the start of August 2023, Etihad Cargo appointed Wallenborn Transports as its road feeder service partner for Europe to expand its scheduled and specialized services across 27 countries.
-Strategic partnerships with leading RFS providers such as Wallenborn strengthen Etihad Cargo's value proposition and will enable the carrier to further expand operations in Europe, which is a key territory for the airline, said Etihad Cargo's Head of Cargo Operations and Delivery, Thomas Schurmann, in a comment to the contract.
