Sep 28, 2023 (newstodate): The repeated and growing number of Ukrainian drone attacks on airports close to Moscow is causing distress among airlines.
The drone alarms have forced authorities to close down traffic to and from the three airport serving Moscow, and this leads to significant irregularities in air traffic.
One airline complaining of the distress caused is the Turkish carrier Pegasus that calls the situation "disruption and a daily challenge".
From the start of Russia's war on Ukraine and until the end of August 2023, the number of drone attacks or attempted attacks has exceeded 500, according to Russian media calculations.
As a result, the Russian airports Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo have repeatedly stopped flights due to attacks, causing dozens of flights to be delayed or cancelled.
