Aug 15, 2023 (newstodate): The Norwegian carrier Wideroe is adjusting its plans for flights connecting Norway and the Faroe Islands.
Starting from September 4, 2021, Wideroe launched twice-weekly flights on the route from its hub at Bergen to Vagar Airport with Bombardier Q400 aircraft - and results were promising enough to induce the carrier to add two more weekly rotations from May 2022.
Sustained results again drove Wideroe to add even a fifth rotation on the route, starting from September '22.
Now, the carrier has decided to go from year-round to seasonal services only from the start of the coming winter 23/24 schedule on October 29, 2023, returning again with two weekly rotations from April 5, 2024.
The Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways earlier served the route with two weekly rotations till year-end 2011.
