Aug 09, 2023 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo's European short-haul freighter network is to be expanded with the inclusion of three Nordic destinations from November 2023.
New on the schedule will be Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki connected to the Lufthansa Cargo's hub at Frankfurt Airport.
The first route opening on November 1, 2023, will see an Airbus A321F operated from Frankfurt to Helsinki, continuing to Copenhagen and returning to Frankfurt with one weekly rotation.
Next, with the opening flight following on November 3, Lufthansa Cargo's Airbus A321F will operate a route from Frankfurt to Helsinki, continuing to Stockholm and returning to Frankfurt, also with one weekly rotation.
Finland's Helsinki Airport will thus see Lufthansa Cargo twice a week, while Copenhagen and Stockholm will be served with only one weekly flight.
Copenhagen Airport was on the European short-haul freighter network throughout June 2023 as a weekly trial service between Frankfurt and Copenhagen to monitor the market response.
During a brief period, some test flights were later performed in July 2023 with the Airbus A321F on the routing Frankfurt-Liege-Riga-Copenhagen-Frankfurt.
Lufthansa Cargo's European short-haul network will also see the addition of Amman, in Jordan, with one weekly rotation from Frankfurt from October 1, 2023, and with the first operation on July 30, 2023, Lufthansa Cargo launched one-weekly flights connecting Frankfurt and Yerevan, Armenia, with an Airbus A321F of which the carrier now has four units in the fleet.
