Aug 14, 2023 (newstodate): The Norwegian-owned Swedish carrier BRA is soon to enter its fifth jet aircraft in commercial service.
The coming delivery will add the carrier's first Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet of four Airbus A319 aircraft, and plans are to grow the number of A320 aircraft to four units, serving tour operators.
BRA's first Airbus A319 was delivered in January 2023.
In 2022, the carrier placed orders for delivery of five Airbus A319 aircraft, later scaled down to four, to serve in the charter market with tour operators Ving and Spies as lead customers in summer 2023 on flights from airports in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Prior to the start of A319 deliveries, BRA was operating only 13 ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft after deciding, in 2019, to phase out its fleet of 10 AVRO RJ100 and RJ85 jet aircraft.
