Aug 28, 2023 (newstodate): After four successive months of growth in cargo volumes, Riga Airport saw a dip by four percent, y-o-y, in July 2023.
A total of 1,507 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, including 792 tonnes of mail and 860 tonnes of mail.
While the volume of cargo actually increased by five percent in July 2023, mail volumes dropped eight percent.
In January-July 2023 the airport has handled a total of 10,782 tonnes of cargo and mail, down 13 percent compared to the same period in 2022 when volumes dipped sharply by 20 percent, marred by the Russian war on Ukraine.
