Aug 04, 2023 (newstodate): The cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways, Etihad Cargo, has appointed Wallenborn Transports as its road feeder service partner for Europe to expand its scheduled and specialized services across 27 countries.
-Strategic partnerships with leading RFS providers such as Wallenborn strengthen Etihad Cargo's value proposition and will enable the carrier to further expand operations in Europe, which is a key territory for the airline, said Etihad Cargo's Head of Cargo Operations and Delivery, Thomas Schurmann, in a comment to the contract.
Today, Etihad Cargo's main European gateways include Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt.
Starting from October 1, 2023, Copenhagen Airport will be a new destination for Etihad Cargo that will be offering capacity on four weekly rotations on a new passenger route between Copenhagen and Abu Dhabi, served with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
In a release on the expansion of Etihad's network, special focus was put on the export cargo capacity offered in the Danish market.
-Etihad Cargo is pleased to introduce cargo capacity out of Copenhagen. Denmark is home to a number of major international pharmaceutical companies, and the country has become an established biotech and pharma hub in Europe.
-Via Etihad Cargo’s IATA CEIV Pharma-certified product, PharmaLife, the carrier will provide the reliable and robust transportation of Denmark’s packaged medico shipments to markets around the world, said Martin Drew, Etihad Airways Snr VP – Global Sales & Cargo.
