Aug 04, 2023 (newstodate): In January-June 2023, Copenhagen Airport was 15.1 percent low on H1/22, with volumes reaching 136,974 tonnes.
Cargo on legacy carriers alone accounted for 92,566 tonnes, down 13.7 percent, y-o-y, primarily due to the slow growth in belly cargo that contributed 43,908 tonnes, but down 21.4 percent in H1/2023.
Cargo by integrators FedEx and DHL did not save the airport's H1/23 over-all performance; in total, the integrator traffic was also down 7.2 percent, y-o-y, to 44,408 tonnes.
While trucked integrator volumes at 10,071 tonnes remained almost unchanged against the preceding year, the decline on the integrators' side was felt in the all-cargo segment where volumes were down 8.3 percent in H1/23, to 34,336 tonnes.
In H1, 2023, the integrators' volumes thus constituted 32 percent of the total air cargo handled at Copenhagen Airport; this is on a par with full-year 2021 and 2022 figures, and an increase compared to 2019-figures at 28 percent - albeit a far cry from 2020 when integrators accounted for 49 percent of all cargo at the airport during the abnormal corona period when most passenger traffic was stalled.
