Aug 01, 2023 (newstodate): Azerbaijan's low-cost carrier Buta Airways, launched in 2017, is to have is life cut short!
   The mother carrier Azerbaijan Airlines has decided to merge the low-cost carrier with the legacy carrier already by October this year, with both companies operating under a single brand.
   In effect, Buta Airways has been operating on Azerbaijan Airlines' AOC and certificates all along.
   The end of low-cost operations leaves the future of Buta Airways' fleet of seven Embraer E-190 aircraft open: the aircraft have been delivered by the Danish aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital under a lease agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines.
