Aug 28, 2023 (newstodate): Air Moldova now seems to have finally reached the end of the line.
On August 24, 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova suspended Air Moldova's AOC as the airline was found to have no airworthy aircraft in its fleet after the last unit, and Airbus A321, lost its airworthiness certificate on August 21.
Already by early March, Air Moldova had no aircraft of its own in its fleet, relying on ACMI lase contracts with carriers including SkyUp Airlines, ALK Airlines and ETF Airways, but all flights were suspended on April 21.
By the end of 2022, the airline's fleet comprised two Airbus A319, one Airbus A320, and one Airbus A321 aircraft - but finally only the Airbus A321 was still in service, while the A320 and one Airbus A319 remained grounded at Montpellier Airport, France, with the second A319 stuck in Verona, Italy.
