Aug 10, 2023 (newstodate): Georgia's Tbilisi Airport has now seen the opening of the first-ever direct air connection with Delhi, India.
   The launch flight was performed on August 8, 2023, by the Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo that is now offering three weekly rotations between the two destinations served with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
   Originally, the new route was scheduled for launch on March 5, 2020, but Indigo postponed the start as the Covid-19 struck, forcing the carrier to review the process for start of operations to new international destinations.
    Indigo Airlines is the largest Asian low-cost carrier in terms of fleet size, and the 7th largest carrier in Asia operating 319 aircraft and with orders placed for another 981 aircraft.
