Jul 24, 2023 (newstodate): One Nordic capital airport is documenting brisk growth in cargo volumes in Jan-Jun 2023: Iceland's Keflavik Airport.
A total of 29,930 tonnes of cargo was handled in H/23, an increase by 5.4 percent, y-o-y.
In June 2023 alone, the airport handled 4,859 tonnes of cargo, which was even up 10.5 percent above June '22.
The increase in 2023 is also seen in the volumes of cargo flights at Keflavik Airport, totaling 184 movements and increasing by 22.7 percent in June 23, as well as reaching 490 in H1/23, also up 10.6 percent in June '23.
Keflavik Airport was also alone in breaking the negative trend shared by the Nordic capital airports in Q1/2023, reporting the handling of 15,368 tonnes - a positive growth by 12.7 percent.
