Jul 31, 2023 (newstodate): Iceland will be seeing competition on flights between Keflavik and Frankfurt heating up before Christmas 2023.
   Newcomer on the route will be the Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY that has announced its intention to start flights to Frankfurt from December 14, 2023, with up to six weekly rotations, going down to three from January 4, 2024, and increasing again to four from January 22, and to five from March 1, 2024.
   Already serving the route are both Icelandair and Lufthansa.
