Jul 26, 2023 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport exited the first half of this year with a 10 percent y-o-y growth in cargo volumes.
Notwithstanding the ongoing embargo and sanctions on Russia, the airport handled a total of 37,000 tonnes of cargo, the bulk of which was domestic cargo accounting for 22,000 tonnes.
International cargo reached 15,000 tonnes, with the largest increase recorded on flights to Moscow from Dubai, Tashkent, Cairo, Addis Ababa and Yerevan.
While volumes are considerable, the situation is a far cry from earlier years; back in H1/2017 Moscow Domodedovo Airport thus handled 60,179 tonnes of cargo.
