Jun 07, 2023 (newstodate): If your airline's financial records show consistently red rather than black figures - why not go green?
In an effort to demonstrate confidence in its future amid painful struggles to stay in the air, SAS has opted for riding the green wave to positive media and public endorsement by announcing the opening of seat reservations for its first-ever commercial electric flight in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
SAS thus invited travelers to book 30 seats available for reservation on each of the three inaugural flights – which are expected to take place during the course of 2028.
The seats were snapped within few minutes after the opening of booking, securing miles of green and positive media reports.
In 2019, SAS started cooperating with Heart Aerospace to drive the development of electric aircraft, in September 2022, signing a letter of support concerning adding the electric ES-30 to its regional aircraft fleet.
