Jun 27, 2023 (newstodate): Estonia's Nordic Aviation Group AS will have a new CEO by the end of 2023.
Announcing his decision to step down is Jan Palmer, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board since 2018 and President of ERA since October 2020.
Prior to his term with Nordic Aviation Group, Mr Palmer took the position as CEO and President November 2012-December 2015 of Estonian Air that went bust after the EU Commission declared state-aid to the carrier illegal.
During his life-long aviation career, Mr Palmer has served in management positions with airlines including Cimber, Amapola Flyg, Malmo Aviation, and Skyways.
Mr Palmer will now help prepare the transfer of the company by the end of the year and advise the council on its search for his successor.
Nordic Aviation Group AS, is a Capacity Provider Airline group, fully-owned by the Republic of Estonia.
Headquartered in Tallinn, the group has its operational bases in Tallinn, Vilnius, Stockholm, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Turku, Lisbon, Larnaca, Munich and Hamburg.
The group operates flights under two brands, two IOSA-certified AOC’s - XFLY operating nine ATR72-600 and nine CRJ900, and NORDICA operating four A320.
Xfly and Nordica operate within the framework of long-term ACMI partnerships with SAS, TAP and MARABU and for the summer 2023 with Cyprus Airways.
