Jun 23, 2024 (newstodate): The Danish aircraft leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital is to carve a niche in the P2F market.
The first steps were taken in November 2022 when Nordic Aviation Capital firmed up an MoU with Embraer to convert 10 of its fleet of E190 and E195 aircraft from passenger to all-cargo configuration.
This will make Nordic Aviation Capital the launch lessor for Embraer's E-Jet P2F program; deliveries will start in 2024, also marking NAC's first entrance in the cargo market.
Now, NAC is taking a second step, adding the first Boeing 737-800 to its portfolio for cargo conversions.
Earlier this month, NAC Nordic Aviation Capital acquired three Boeing 737-800 aircraft from GECAS, which are the first of this type in the fleet of NAC.
Two aircraft were immediately placed on a leasing contract with American Airlines, while the third aircraft is now operating on a contract with Transavia France.
However, the future of the three Boeing 737-800 lies in conversion into all-cargo aircraft, and NAC has now signed its first-ever conversion contract with Boeing for one conversion slot, with the first Boeing 737-800BCF delivered in 2026.
