Jun 122, 2023 (newstodate): The Danish regional aircraft lessor, Dublin-based Nordic Aviation Capital has now landed its first customer for lease of Airbus A220-300 aircraft, new in the company's aircraft portfolio.
NAC has inked a contract with the state-owned carrier Linhas Aereas de Angola, TAAG, for the lease of two Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with delivery dates yet unpublished.
TAAG is a newcomer to the growing customer portfolio of NAC - but the contract also marks NAC's first allocation of the aircraft type to the aircraft lease market.
Starting from 2024, TAAG is to take in a total of 15 Airbus A220-300 aircraft from various lessors including Aviation Capital Group, Azorra, NAC, and Air Lease Corporation, replacing the carrier's current fleet of Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
NAC signed a MoU, later turned into a firm order, with Airbus for the acquisition of 20 A220 Family aircraft at the Paris Air Show 2019.
