Jun 05, 2023 (newstodate): With little official noise, Lufthansa Cargo has added Copenhagen Airport to its list of destinations served by its European short-haul freighter network.
With the first flight between Frankfurt and Copenhagen on June 4, 2023, Lufthansa Cargo is now operating a weekly rotation with Airbus A321F aircraft offering 28 tonnes of cargo capacity.
Lufthansa Cargo launched the regional cargo network in March 2022 with its first A321 freighter, operated by Lufthansa subsidiary CityLine, an intra-European passenger carrier.
The service is primarily targeting the e-commerce market with routes from Frankfurt to destinations in Europe and North Africa, including Cairo, Egypt, Malta and Tunis, Tunisia.
Among the first routes to be served from Frankfurt was also Norway's Evenes Airport starting from November 2, 2022, with one weekly rotation - but this service was soon cancelled with the last flight on December 21, 2022.
