Jun 28, 2023 (newstodate): July 1, 2023, will be celebrated in Russia to mark the 20th anniversary of air services by Emirates to Russia.
Since the opening, the airline has carried over 7.89 million passengers on more than 29,000 flights between Dubai and Russia - today offering 28 direct weekly flights, including three daily flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport with Airbus A380, and one daily flight from Pulkovo Airport with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
During the 20 years period, Emirates Cargo has also lifted 255,000 tonnes of cargo and mail between Dubai and Russia - including five tonnes of Russian vodka for sale at Dubai Duty Free as the first Russian export belly cargo in July 2003.
On March 8, 2011, Emirates SkyCargo performed its first commercial flight into Moscow Domodedovo Airport, among other goods carrying 450,000 roses weighing 64 tonnes.
In addition to the passengers flights, Emirates SkyCargo next launched regular scheduled cargo flights with Boeing 777-200F from November 2012 on the route Dubai-Moscow-Frankfurt route.
