Jun 21, 2023 (newstodate): Starting from September 5, 2022, Norway's market for seafood air logistics saw the entry of a new contender: Blue Water Norway.
Adding to the competencies of Blue Water's Global Airfreight, Reefer Road & Reefer Sea solutions, Blue Water Norway initially set up a dedicated team of six to focus on the needs among Norwegian seafood exporters for new logistics solutions to bring the country's seafood exports to the global marketplace.
-And we have indeed come off to a most promising start with green lights for sustained growth in 2023, says Morten Wurgler, Blue Water General Manager Sea & Air Norway since July 1, 2022.
-The strong start has allowed us to add already two more to the staff serving the seafood market, bringing the team to 10, and we expect to grow even more during the year.
-While it is of course difficult to bring innovation to this mature market, we have focussed on sending seafood shipments into the European market with destinations such as London and Rome, and we are bolstered by BWS' renowned profile in perishables logistics including both air and sea transportation, and benefiting from the strong support by all BWS offices.
-As every player in this market, we have felt the impact from declining price levels in Europe, leading to a general drop in volumes and a strong focus on price as a key parameter.
-But despite this, BWS Norway has managed to grow our volumes significantly from the start, backed by a strong network and intimate knowledge of the market and its players.
-I would expect a sustained increase in our volumes during the rest of the year, says Mr Wurgler.
